It is an isomer of lutein and is commonly present in green leafy vegetables, flowers, fruits, Chinese wolfberry, and yellow corn. Most zeaxanthin in nature are all-trans isomers (AlLE-ISo-Mer) and often coexist with lutein, β-carotene, and cryptoxanthin to form carotenoid mixtures.
